How can the simple warmth of Nordic style and the ruggedness of industrial style blend together in the same space? This style has both the warmth of Nordic style and the personality and attitude of industrial style, reflecting Daqian's free spirit, just like Daqian's creative attitude - unconventional, yet unique. In his world, minimalism and ruggedness are not contradictory, but can instead spark unique inspiration.
Curtains: A key detail in determining the style of a space
Many people often overlook a crucial element when decorating—curtains. In fact, curtains are not just a tool for blocking light; they are also an important detail that influences the style of a space. Choosing the right curtains can not only add depth to the design but also enhance the overall quality.
To achieve a more harmonious blend of Nordic and industrial styles, the material and color of the curtains are key!
- Material suggestions: We recommend choosing natural fabrics such as linen and cotton, as these materials add a soft touch to the Scandinavian style and complement wooden furniture. The wall behind the desk is intentionally left as a bare cement wall, achieving a balance between gentleness and ruggedness in the overall style.
This combination not only enhances the design of the workspace but also enhances its practicality. Honeycomb blinds moderately filter natural light and reduce screen glare, making the work environment more comfortable; while the rugged texture of the cement walls balances the warm feel of the wooden desktop, adding depth and personality to the space. Whether it is the morning wake-up mode, the warm light atmosphere at dusk, or complete blackout at night, it can be set with one click, making life more ritualistic.
Besides convenience, the scenario mode is also one of Daqian's favorite features. He has set different scenarios, such as "Work Mode" - the curtains are slightly opened to allow natural light to enter moderately, creating a focused work atmosphere; "Movie Mode" - the curtains close automatically, creating an immersive movie-watching experience.
The convenience of smart curtains not only brings a modern technological feel, but also cleverly echoes the simple and practical characteristics of industrial style, making the whole home a place that combines warmth and fashion.
Awakened every morning by the wisest natural light
The master bedroom boasts two stunning windows, providing ample natural light, which is delightful. However, choosing the right curtains presented a challenge. Ultimately, Daqian decided to make a clever choice regarding the two windows in the master bedroom to meet his different needs for light.
Since Daqian doesn't need a completely dark sleeping environment, Venetian blinds were chosen for one of the windows. This allows for easy adjustment of light intake while maintaining a degree of privacy. The blinds are also operated via the HomeKit motorized smart system, making opening and closing effortless. For the other window, blackout curtains were chosen to moderately block out outside light and reduce the overexposure of the space.
The color scheme primarily uses muted grays and blues, which not only matches the overall style but also adds visual depth to the space. This combination strikes a perfect balance between style and practicality, achieving a harmonious blend of comfort and functionality in the master bedroom.
