What is interior design?

If you buy a new or used house and the layout already meets your needs, many people will directly seek the help of interior designers to help create a comfortable living environment.
If you are buying a house that is more than 20 years old, you should pay attention to whether there are leaks, mold, or whether the layout is suitable for your living situation. If there are any of the above situations that involve adjustments to the spatial structure, it is recommended to find an interior designer.

Currently, there are no relevant licenses for interior designers in Taiwan, and there is no strict distinction between interior design and interior design. Therefore, you may encounter an interior designer who is good at interior decoration, or an interior designer who has an understanding of interior design concepts.
Both types of designers often have backgrounds in visual arts, architecture, or related fields, and possess strong skills in styling and a keen eye for aesthetics when designing spaces. Lo-Fi houses excel at starting with style, coordinating the overall style, and then combining hard and soft furnishings to create a more unified space.
▌Space Style
This time, we hired a designer to help renovate a newly built 15-ping (approximately 33 square meters) two-bedroom, one-living room apartment. The layout remained unchanged from the original configuration provided by the developer. Since the homeowner favored both American minimalist luxury and Scandinavian fresh styles, they wanted their favorite blue-green as the main color scheme.
Based on the above requirements, Lo-Fi House, in collaboration with the interior design team, combined soft and hard furnishings to create a "Nordic light luxury" style home. The three spaces showcase different elegant aspects, revealing the true personality of the sophisticated female homeowner and her preferred color scheme.
▌Living and Dining Room
The space is decorated with the homeowner's favorite light blue-green as the base color, combined with white, natural wood color, light gray and other light colors to create a fresh feel. The purchase of large movable furniture focuses on practicality and high functionality, and the appearance continues the simple texture of the Nordic style.
Adding a few eye-catching bright accessories, such as bright yellow cushions and lamps with gold elements, quickly outlines the silhouette of a light luxury style.
Before finding a designer, the homeowner, who had a very good understanding of his own preferences and needs, had already purchased some of the furniture himself.
For example, a black and gray coffee table with rose gold streamlined legs in the living room not only has hidden storage space inside, but also the tabletop can be raised to be closer to you, so you can comfortably watch TV and eat while lounging on the sofa.
However, because they were not confident that they could match the purchased furniture well, they asked a designer to help turn their dream space into reality, including the selection of furniture, decorations, and plants, as well as the planning of the base painting of the ceiling, walls, and floors.
A style doesn't necessarily require extensive hard furnishings; a multi-layered soft furnishing plan can also achieve the ideal space.
Large curtains are a crucial visual element in interior design, acting as both a light tuner and a reflection of the space's character.

▌Study/Studio
Just like clothing, the interior design of a space can also reveal a person's personality. The living room, as the face of the home, is as cheerful and welcoming as the homeowner's first impression, while the designer showcases the homeowner's dreamy and imaginative inner qualities in the study.
Boldly contrasting geometric color blocks and abstract, vibrant wallpapers—by making full use of paint and applying it to the walls, a space can instantly become modern.
At first glance, the room appears as a wild study with a Fauvist aesthetic, where golden lines flow across the blue-green walls and lamps, creating a sense of understated luxury. However, the well-placed blank space by the window allows sensibility and rationality, madness and tranquility to coexist peacefully in one room.
A simple and elegant white daybed is always a place to soothe a weary soul at work, by the window.Sheer curtainsIt is the softest part of my heart, softening the atmosphere of the space with its gentle and bright demeanor.
The white display case houses souvenirs from the homeowner, who loves to travel, carefully preserving memories of each trip.
Master Bedroom
The bedroom, where I rest every night, was designed with an elegant and relaxing tone. The space was based on white, which can calm the mind and body. The arched lines on the walls not only soften the sharp angles of the room but also add a touch of dreaminess, like being in a castle.
