DIY Curtain Tip 1: Different Walls, Different Tools
Just like two people who hit it off immediately, you also need to find the right tools to install curtains on the same wall to successfully install them! We usually divide the wall into three types and use different tools for each type, which will be explained below.
- When the wall is made of wood or has a wooden curtain box, the curtain bracket can be locked to the wall using an electric screwdriver and regular screws.
.
.
- When the wall surface is made of metal such as iron or aluminum, or the windows are made of aluminum or iron, an electric screwdriver with self-tapping screws must be used to remove them.Curtain rod installationLocked to the wall.

(Did you notice that the screw heads look different? ^_<).
.
- When the wall is made of cement, you must first use a cement drill bit (6mm drill bit) to drill a hole, then use a hammer to drive in a plastic gecko, and finally use an electric screwdriver with regular screws to fix the curtain bracket to the wall.
.
..
DIY Curtain Tip 2: Use a vacuum cleaner while drilling to prevent dust from spreading.
These are details that many people would not notice, but they are the key to the meticulousness of our field colleagues.
Whether the wall is made of wood, metal, or cement, drilling inevitably creates dust. Using a handheld vacuum cleaner to suck up the dust can reduce or eliminate the need for extra cleaning afterwards!

.
DIY Curtain Tip 3: Attach foam strips to the back of both ends of the bottom curtain track to prevent collisions.
If you're used to opening windows in daily life, sometimes the outdoor wind will blow the curtains up and then pull them back against the window. Regardless of the style of curtains, it's recommended to close the windows slightly when it's windy to avoid damage to the fabric or curtain system over time, and also to reduce dust and sand falling into the room.
When the wind blows strong enough, the curtains may sometimes hit the window or the bottom edge of the window frame. If you attach small pieces of foam strips or wool felt pads used for chair legs to the back of both ends of the curtain track, you can reduce the impact and noise.
